If - like me - you were blessed enough to attend a modern elementary school, it would be difficult to imagine chairs that crumble while you're sat. Unfortunately, this was the reality for teachers like Misses Ortiz at Bethlehem Elementary School, Taylorsville, NC, where my sister, Kat Seno, was Interim Vice Principal from 2023 to 2024. The school was built almost thirty years ago and the furniture was falling apart. Kat ask me to design a classroom with KI furniture using KI's software for their annual Classroom Giveaway. The community banded together to vote for Misses Oritz's Science and Social Studies classroom making it the highest voted design in KI competition history.

The home owner wished to restore their post-WWII Internationalism-Style Cape Cod built in 1954. The owner always dreamt of having a yellow kitchen with black and white checked flooring. The original cabinets, tile, countertop, and hardwood floors were restored to their original glory.

The family at Telegraph Road in Concord, North Carolina, enjoyed the ease of living in a new built, but they felt the townhouse lacked character and charm of an older home. The nine-foot ceilings and white walls inspired a modernized downtown loft aesthetic, Splashes of color were introduced to each room that draws the eyes around the spacious and bright rooms to give them definition and personality.
